The Tournament
You will compete within a clear and trusted framework. Handicaps are verified against recognised systems at registration, tees are set for balanced challenge, and referees are present to support rulings. The tee sheet is curated so you meet and compete with players of similar ability, and the course is prepared exclusively for the MGA World Final in full tournament style.

Format and theatre
A three day cumulative Stableford championship follows a dedicated practice day. Live scoring feeds division leaderboards in real time, building atmosphere from the first tee shot to the last putt. Final day tee times are set by the leaderboard so every group feels the charge of a true closing stretch.
Pro-level player experience
Daily access to the practice range and short game areas, range balls included. Calm player briefings, attentive starters, and professional scoring control at the close. Clear local rules, considered pace guidelines, and a schedule aligned to prayer times so your worship and your golf both feel unhurried.

For those travelling on group transfers from Jeddah, arrival at the hotel is expected around 1:00 AM. Upon arrival, guests may choose to perform Umrah immediately, after Fajr (around 6:00 AM), or at their own convenience during the stay.
If you’re arriving later in the evening, no problem at all — a member of the MGA team will be available to welcome you. Please share your arrival details in advance so we can ensure everything is prepared for your arrival.

Hotel & Spa Access
Your package includes accommodation in Makkah, Madinah & KAEC. In KAEC, you will be staying at the luxurious Rixos Hotel . The resort includes 540 Hotel rooms and 36 Villas in different sizes. There is a special Themed Water Park for 1200 guests for unique fun and excitement. The hotel has 9 different restaurants and 5 lounges, offering a variety of cuisines with Rixos high-end quality.

Absolutely. We offer two package options, and if you are only interested in the golf experience, you can select the Golf-Only Package when booking.
This option runs from Wednesday February 11th to Sunday February 15th, and includes:
4 nights at the luxury Rixos Murjana (all-inclusive)
A 9-hole practice round on arrival day (dependent on flight time)
3 championship rounds at the world-renowned Royal Greens Golf & Country Club
Full access to MGA hospitality, community events, and networking opportunities
You’ll enjoy the complete World Final atmosphere — the competition, the energy, the brotherhood — all set against the stunning backdrop of the Red Sea coast.
Departures are scheduled for Saturday 15 February, unless you choose to extend your stay. -
The MGA World Final will be played over three championship rounds using cumulative Stableford scoring. The player with the highest total number of points across all three days will be crowned MGA World Champion in their division.
To ensure a fair and competitive field, players will compete within three handicap divisions:
Division 1: 0 – 8.4
Division 2: 8.5 – 14.4
Division 3: 14.5 – 24
This means we will crown three MGA World Champions — one from each division.
On Final Day, pairings will be determined by the live leaderboard standings, creating a true championship atmosphere right until the last putt drops.

To be eligible for the main championship prizes, all players must hold a recognised official handicap, verified through their home golf club or national governing body.
As part of the registration process, you will be required to submit:
Your handicap ID number
A current handicap certificate
Proof of a minimum of 10 qualifying rounds recorded within the last 12 months (up to 31 January 2025)
These documents must be provided no later than 30 days before the event. All handicaps will be confirmed and final eligibility approved prior to the first round.
If a player does not meet these requirements, they may still participate in the event and enjoy the full experience, but may not be eligible to win the main championship prizes. Final decisions regarding eligibility rest with the MGA Championship Committee.

The Race to Makkah brings together Muslim golfers from across the world — an incredible opportunity to meet like-minded brothers and build new friendships both on and off the course.
Where possible, we will ensure you are paired with at least one familiar player for one of the rounds (simply let us know your preference during registration). For the remaining rounds, we will mix pairings based on similar ability, division, and professional backgrounds — helping you maximise the networking experience and enjoy the global community that makes this event so special.

At this event, caddies will not be available at Royal Greens.
However, golf carts are included for all championship rounds to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience on the course. -
We’ll be using the Stableford scoring system – the preferred format for all MGA tournaments worldwide.
In simple terms, Stableford awards points based on the number of strokes taken on each hole, rather than simply counting total strokes over the round. The better you play on each hole, the more points you earn – and if you have a bad hole, you can pick up and move on without ruining your entire score.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
1 point for a bogey
2 points for a par
3 points for a birdie
4 points for an eagle
0 points for anything worse than a bogey
This format keeps the game fast, competitive and more enjoyable – especially for newer players. It also means one bad hole won’t ruin your entire round.
Stableford is the standard scoring method used by all MGA host countries and ensures a fair and consistent playing experience across our global tournaments.

Yes. A complimentary practice round is scheduled for Wednesday February 11th. Depending on your arrival time, you will be able to play at least 9 holes, and if we can check you in and transfer you to the course earlier, we will aim to provide as many holes as possible.
Throughout your stay in KAEC, you will have full access to the world-class practice facilities at Royal Greens, including:
Driving range
Putting greens
Chipping and short game areas
Shuttle transfers will operate before each round, ensuring you can arrive at least 1 hour before your tee time to warm up. If you would like to visit earlier or stay later for additional practice, our team will be happy to arrange this for you.

Absolutely. Many of our guests will be performing Umrah for the very first time, and our team will be on hand to support and guide you throughout the process. We’ll help arrange everything you need — from Ihram to transport and step-by-step guidance — so you can focus on the spiritual experience itself.
In the lead-up to the trip, the MGA will also host dedicated preparation seminars to help you get ready both physically and spiritually. These sessions will cover everything from the rituals of Umrah to what to pack and how to make the most of your time in the Holy Cities.
During the journey, our guides will be on hand at every stage, ensuring you feel supported, confident, and connected throughout.
If you’d prefer not to perform Umrah, you can still join us directly for the Golf-Only Experience at the Rixos Murjana. Both options are designed to ensure you feel welcome, prepared, and part of the MGA family from the moment you arrive.

For those joining the Full Umrah Experience, we ask that you arrive in Jeddah on Friday February 6th. We will arrange group airport transfers for guests arriving at similar times, or you may choose a private transfer at an additional cost. Departures should be scheduled for Saturday, February 15th, unless you plan to extend your stay.
For guests joining the Golf-Only Experience, please plan to arrive in Jeddah on Tuesday, February 11th, allowing time to check in and take part in the practice round on Wednesday afternoon or evening.
