About Us

The Spirit Behind the Race

The Muslim Golf Association

The Race to Makkah is more than a tournament. It’s a global movement, celebrating faith, unity, and world-class competition.

Powered by the Muslim Golf Association (MGA).

Founded in the UK by Amir Malik, the Muslim Golf Association is the world’s leading organisation championing golf for the Muslim community. From a single event, MGA has grown into an international network of tournaments, coaching programmes, and community-led initiatives spanning the UK, USA, and beyond, making the sport more accessible, inclusive, and representative for men, women, children, and individuals with disabilities.

Our vision is simple:

  • To harness the power of golf to unite people.

  • To create new opportunities.

  • To break down barriers.

  • And to proudly blend identity with golf, and faith with excellence.

Powered by the Muslim Golf Association

MGA is proud to be officially recognised by England Golf and The R&A. We are the force behind:

  • Men’s tournaments across the UK and North America

  • Over 1,200+ Muslim women introduced to golf through safe, inclusive sessions

  • Delivered over 1000+ Junior and youth coaching programmes

  • Disability golf experiences

  • A growing digital and grassroots movement featured in BBC, CNN, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and more

Through our work, we are changing perceptions, building community, and creating space for Muslims in a sport that once felt closed.
